Race three saw a legend make a long-awaited return to the podium, in the shape of the 888 Racing team. Now with Collins contractors, 888 Racing is a former BTCC champion outfit and has found a fiesty fighter in James Nash. Despite this the team haven't tasted victory in over a year, which should make today's result all the sweeter for Ian Harrison's team. Rob Austin followed Nash onto the podium, and did it in style donning his trademark aviator specs! The team has had a solid weekend and fans will expect the pace to continue to Brands Hatch and Silverstone. Fellow Rob, Mr Collard of WSR took third, securing more points and shaking off the DNF of race one. Staying on the theme of shaking things off, Mat Jackson finally rid himself of the DNF spectre, although ironically coming in a supposedly unlucky 13th! Just off the podium in 4th was Paul O'Neill who should be very happy with his weekend, as should Frank Wrathall who brought the Toyota home to 9th. One team that will no doubt be happy to leave Rockingham behind is Aon, a double driver DNF and Chilton outside of the points in race three topped off a miserable weekend. However, if history is anything to go by the team will give it everything they've got to put in a better show for their fans in Brands and Silverstone.
Finally thanks to Rockingham circuit for delivering another great weekend of BTCC action. Shedden and Neal now jointly lead the championship, with just 6 races left who can they hang on in there and who could displace them?
