BMW Restyles Its Bike for 2012 Print E-mail

BMWBMW has had its paint box out for most of its bike fleet for next year and has debuted images of the restyled machines to get riders saving up ahead of their launch.

Most of the BMW range is present bar a few notables that may suggest they will be getting technical upgrades rather than just new colours and will be deserving of individual fanfares when they're ready.

The new G650GS, K1600GT/GTL, and R1200R don't get a new lick of paint but as the most recent models to hit the market they don't need any sort of refresh just yet.  Also missing from the line up is the S1000RR leaving many hoping for a few tune ups here and there to keep it competitive, though it's still doing just fine as king of superbikes for now.  The twin cylinder version of the GS650 may also be due for an overhaul as well given the single's recent relaunch and maybe something will appear around November at the Milan show.

The big GS, both versions do get the the latest style refresh which may mean the water cooled test version seen out and about may not be ready for market just yet, and perhaps a completely new GS is planned with rumours of semi-active suspension under test as well.  Though the cost of adding such a system to the bike could make it a high roller purchase only. By Nick Moore
