Bradley Smith has qualified on pole for the 2nd time this season repeating his pole position of last year at the Misano circuit.

In a closely contested session the top four in the championship, Marquez, Terol, Espargarro and Smith all took turns at the top of the time sheet.

Bradley Smith produced a brilliant final lap as the chequered flag came out to steal pole away from Marc Marquez.  Earlier in the session Smith followed Marquez for a lap to move up to 2nd place but needed no such help on his final lap. Marquez was behind Smith on track for the final lap but couldn't match his pace.

After the disappointment of crashing last weekend at Indianapolis Bradley Smith will be looking to convert this pole position into a good result in tomorrow's race. Mike Evans  Girlracer magazine
