Race driver blog, Sloan Henderson - Season end Print E-mail

SloanThe end of the racing season is always full of drama but this year seems to be extra dramatic

Friday at Kil-Kare, I qualified fourth using Sunoco racing fuel from Estes oil in Franklin in the GreenPro Landscaping Koehlke Components NASCAR Whelen LM. With a inversion of 5 that put me on the outside poll.  It was a tough race.  The new car in front of me got loose on his own, I check up hard got close but never touch him, and they put me to the tale.  I ended up finishing sixth.  Please check my website or FB before you go to Kil Kare to see if I’m racing there.

My Rebel 105.9 crew stayed up all night Friday night working on the new “Crusader” CRA car.  I came home and got some sleep at their request.  We headed to Columbus early and had a great first practice for a brand new Crusader car. It was so cool having radio in the race car. Dad was so excited, hopefully a event free race.

Then it happened, the new engine blew!  It was not meant to be.  I heard there was a big wreck just behind David Carter, the other Local racer so maybe it was for the best, because he and I usually race bumper to bumper.

Sometimes it seems everything can be for nothing.  My crew and I were very disappointed at working so hard on the CRA car only to have the engine give up.  . Dad Gary Steve Jerry and Dick was up over 30 hr, I know three of them was up for 39hr straight. I’m so blessed to have them, They all work so hard just for the love of racing. I missed seeing my brother get to play in his first Junior Varsity football game.    Dad and I, got home from Columbus Motor Speedway just in time to change and head to my cousin, April’s, wedding to Jeff Reynolds.  It actually worked out to be perfect timing.  Chase was an usher.  Mom had just been seated when we got there.  It was a beautiful outdoor wedding and we had a great time.  Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Reynolds!

This past Wednesday I was at Solar Screen in Moraine.  It was a nice turn out and I got to meet a lot of racing fans!  Thanks to everyone you came out!!
I went down the Motorsports County Club of Cincinnati on Sunday.  They put me on their road course to test me.  It went very well and we should hear something back from them this next week about run a fast kart next time.  It was fun not having to worry about anything but going fast.  We are still waiting to hear from Keith Argabright Sr.

VP at Nation Bank and Trust ( the old Community National  Bank) and Terry Tobey at Key Chrysler about  helping  me finish as the top ranked female in America.  I want to thank Scot at Paradise Graphix, Mike Roth at Sanders Training, Jerry from Intelligent Office, Ken Black at Sports promotion, John Wright, All State , Terry Snicker Chassis,  Solar Shade, Dayton Christian the “Crusader”and Williams Industries in NC for becoming new and renew sponsors this month. Sloan Henderson  Girlracer magazine
